The Millgate Academy is a brand-new technology course at the Sheffield College, which is part of the college’s Employer Skills Academies portfolio.
The Academy is the first of its kind in Sheffield. It is an innovative teaching and learning programme that provides outstanding technical and professional education for students.
Millgate have worked towards developing a course with a focus on networking and cybersecurity. The learning experience works towards cultivating ready-for-work students with the help of our industry knowledge.
The qualification covers IT systems, cybersecurity and incident management, programming, mobile app development, the Internet of Things, project management, technical support and management, cloud storage and website development.
The Academies enable students to enhance their studies by engaging with professional people and projects to gain real and transferable employability skills, sector knowledge, and practical experience.
We’ve invested into the development of an industry-relevant classroom, boasting brand-new servers, desktops, laptops and networking capabilities. Students can get hands-on with the tech, just like we do.
We’re working closely with our core partners to incorporate events, site visits to partner headquarters and lectures from industry-leading experts.
Millgate plan to continue developing our relationship with the College and our students, providing them with industry-related knowledge and connections which will help them succeed well into their careers.
